The 'Nzerta chestnuts of the Sila plateau are a jewel of nature, carefully selected in the Sila forests. These chestnuts offer an incomparable taste, the result of an ideal microclimate that enhances their sweetness. Perfect for roasting, boiling or transforming into delicious sweet and savory preparations, they are a must-have for any lover of autumn flavours.
'Nzerta is the most widespread cultivar in the Calabrian territory, it is present in almost all production areas and represents approximately 40% of regional production.
The plant is medium vigorous with expanded foliage. The graft point is often enlarged. The fruit is medium in size with a matte dark brown pericarp with streaks. The episperna comes off easily. Ripens in the third decade of October.
