TERRITORY

3. Tradition: Calabria boasts a long tradition in the cultivation of olive trees and in the production of olive oil. The knowledge and techniques handed down from generation to generation have allowed us to refine agricultural practices and select the best cultivars for the area.

In particular, the most famous and appreciated cultivar in the area is the Dolce di Rossano. There Rossano cake it is known for its balanced organoleptic profile, which is characterized by the sweetness and delicacy of its aromas, with notes of ripe fruit, almond and flowers. Thanks to the characteristics of the territory and the skill in cultivation, the oil produced based on Dolce di Rossano is highly appreciated both in Italy and abroad for its unique taste and nutritional properties.

TERRITORY

Our company is located in the Municipality of San Giorgio Albanese, a town of Arbëreshe origin (Albanian ethnic-linguistic minority, founded in 1470 by refugees from the Morea on the occasion of the invasion of the Balkans by the Ottoman Turks) located on the northern side of the Sila Greca, on the hills that anticipate the Sila plateau and that surround the Sibari plain.

The territory is closed to the north by the Pollino mountain range, to the east by the Ionian Sea and to the south by the Sila mountain range.

These environmental characteristics give a mild climate in winter and hot in summer, ideal for the production of cured meats and the cultivation of olive trees.

The Piana di Sibari and the Pre-Silane Hills are geographical areas located in the region of Calabria, in southern Italy. These areas are characterized by a hilly and flat landscape, with fertile soils and a typically Mediterranean climate, which offer ideal conditions for the cultivation of olive trees and the production of high quality olive oil.

Positive factors for growing oil in these areas include:

1. Climate: the Mediterranean climate, with mild, rainy winters and hot, dry summers, is favorable for the growth of olive trees. The non-extreme temperatures during the year allow the plants to develop in a healthy way and to produce quality olives.

2. Land: the soils of the Piana di Sibari and the Pre-Silane hills are generally rich in minerals and well drained, which favors the development of the roots of the olive trees and guarantees good nutrition for the plants.
